Swim World Pools had the wonderful opportunity to participate
in a once in a lifetime project in August of 2006. Most of
you have seen or heard of the tragic tornado that struck
our community that did over 800 million dollars of damage
to property April 7th 2006. Amy Hawkins was at home as the
tornado came through, she used her body to lay over her
two boys to protect them from the crumbling debris, and
saved their lives!ÝAmy became paralyzed from her heroic
motherly instincts, and the Hawkins Family lost everything.Ý
ABC's
Extreme home makeover and Capitol Homes of Nashville came
to Hendersonville to rebuild the home for the Hawkins Family.
Amy had mentioned in an interview while doing rehab therapy,
she felt most normal when in the swimming pool. Swim World
Pools aligned a team of local pool professionals and manufactures
and coordinated the construction of a truly unique pool.
It was designed to allow Amy
to enter the pool and/or the splash pool that spills over
into the main pool( Photo to the right). Amy, Jerrod, Cole,
and Jair can gather around their pool to create many wonderful
memories to come.
To
complete a project in 5 days is truly amazing. The power
of people when focused on a task and when cooperation and
love is shown, it emanates what people are truly capable
of. Our company was honored to share in such giving and
it has touched our lives as individuals. We challenge all
people to give a hand; a hug; a smile when possible to others.
